Police in Chicago have reported that a rideshare driver shot two armed robbers on the city’s West Side. The incident occurred after the driver had completed a trip and dropped off a passenger in the North Lawndale neighborhood around 1 a.m. As the driver was being approached by a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman at gunpoint, they proceeded to steal the passenger’s cellphone and then fired shots at the driver as they fled the scene. Thankfully, the driver, who holds a concealed carry license, fired back and struck the male robber in the leg and grazed the female robber’s arm. The male robber was taken to the hospital and is in good condition, while the female robber declined medical attention. The rideshare driver, fortunately, did not sustain any injuries.
